When you finish, Ronin Wallet will have an account whose keys stay on your Ledger, and every Axie or Pixels transaction from it will need a button press on the device. The job takes a few minutes. One thing to know first: the Ledger option only appears in Chromium-based browsers. Ledger's own support article, last updated May 13, 2026, says it will not show up in Firefox at all, even though Ronin ships a Firefox extension.
What you need
-
A Ledger that can run the Ethereum (ETH) app
Ronin is EVM-compatible, so the device signs Ronin transactions with the Ethereum app. Neither Ledger's article nor Ronin's publishes a desktop model list. For phones, only the Nano X is supported.
-
Ledger's desktop app, downloaded from ledger.com
You install the Ethereum app through it. Ledger says to get its software only from ledger.com.
-
Chrome or Edge
These are Chromium browsers. Firefox will not offer Ledger.
-
The Ronin Wallet extension from the official browser store
Ronin lists the browser extension stores and the Google Play and Apple App Store apps as the only official installs. The web app lives at wallet.roninchain.com.
-
A USB cable, or Bluetooth for a Nano X on mobile
If you have not settled on a device yet, start with the shortlist of hardware wallets instead.
Linking it, in order
This follows the order in Ronin's setup article, with the browser details from Ledger's version.
-
Install the Ethereum app
In Ledger's desktop app, open the app catalogue. Ronin's instruction is literal: "Find 'Ethereum(ETH)' in the app catalogue and click Install." Worked if: the Ethereum app shows on the device's home screen.
-
Plug in the Ledger and enter the PIN
Worked if: the device dashboard is unlocked.
-
Open the Ethereum app on the device
Leave it open for every step that follows. Worked if: the device screen shows that the app is ready.
-
Open Ronin Wallet's account drop-down and choose Connect Hardware Wallet
In Ronin's import flow this is the Hardware Wallet path, listed next to Social Login and Recovery Phrase/Private Key. Worked if: Ronin asks you to pick between Trezor and Ledger.
-
Select Ledger
Worked if: the browser opens a pop-up asking permission to connect an HID device.
-
Approve the HID device in the pop-up
Worked if: Ronin displays a list of Ledger accounts.
-
Pick the account to link
Worked if: a confirmation message appears and the account is listed in Ronin Wallet. Linking does not move anything. The Ledger account has its own address, and you fund it the same way you would fund any other address.
On a phone (Nano X only): turn on Bluetooth and open the Ronin Wallet app's hardware wallet option. Select Nano X, tap your device's name, choose Start Pairing, then pick an account from the list. Ronin added this in Mobile Wallet V2 back in November 2022.
The October 7, 2026 Karst upgrade did not change any of this. Ronin's announcement says ordinary wallet users have nothing to do, and it never mentions Ledger or Trezor.
When it fails
Done, and then
The Ledger account now signs your Ronin game transactions, so a compromised browser alone cannot drain it. Ronin's help center lists Trezor as the other hardware option. If you are still weighing which device to buy, there is a head-to-head on Ronin support. The next job is funding the new address without walking into a drainer.
How do you fund and bridge that wallet safely?
The wallet setup guide covers funding, bridging to the right chain, and the approval traps that come before your first claim.
